Medium frequency furnace is a kind of steel-making method which uses induction heating effect to heat and melt metal. It is especially suitable for smelting a small amount of high-quality steel and alloy with high-quality raw materials (high-quality scrap, ferroalloy, etc.). The vacuum induction furnace with vacuum system is an important equipment for smelting high quality alloy.

Direct steelmaking with medium frequency melting furnace

Step 1: iron ore powder, iron oxide scale, one or three kinds of iron slag or steel slag processed by magnetic separation, graphite coal block and lime block are put in the induction furnace, heated to 1350-1400 ℃, melted into molten iron and removed slag.

Step 2: for steelmaking, add lime powder and oxygen to the molten iron in step 1, raise the temperature to 1650-1680 ℃, and tap the molten steel, wherein the input amount of lime powder is 2-5% of one or three kinds of input amount of iron ore powder, oxide scale, magnetic separation processed iron slag or steel slag or iron steel slag.

Step 3: cast ingot, billet or steel casting the molten steel refined in step 2 is cast into ingot, billet or steel casting.
