The high temperature performance of the induction smelting furnace lining mainly depends on the physical and chemical properties and mineral composition of the refractory used. On the premise of the selection of raw and auxiliary materials, the sintering process is the key process to obtain a good microstructure of the furnace lining and give full play to its high temperature resistance. The densification degree of lining sintering is related to the chemical composition, particle size ratio, sintering process and sintering temperature of refractory. Through more than ten years of continuous exploration and production test, a company has summarized the reasonable furnace building and knotting process and baking and sintering process, which has greatly increased the furnace life. The furnace life of the dry knotting lining of 2T medium frequency furnace (once medium repair) is as high as 1157 furnace times, and remarkable economic benefits have been achieved.

1 remove mica paper during furnace building.
2. The crystal quartz sand for furnace building shall be treated as follows:
2.1 manual selection: mainly remove blocks and other impurities;
2.2 magnetic separation: magnetic impurities must be completely removed;
2.3 dry ramming material: it must be dried slowly at 200 ℃ - 300 ℃ for more than 4 hours.
3 selection and proportion of furnace building materials:
3.1 selection of furnace building materials for medium frequency electric furnace: it should be noted that not all SiO2 & Ge; 99% of quartz sand can be used as the lining material of induction furnace. The important thing is the size of quartz grain. The coarser the grain, the fewer lattice defects, the better. (for example, crystal quartz sand has high SiO2 purity, white and transparent appearance.) The larger the furnace capacity, the higher the requirements for grains.
3.2 proportion: proportion of quartz sand for furnace lining: 6-8 mesh 10% - 15%, 10-20 mesh 25% - 30%, 20-40 mesh 25% - 30%, 270 mesh 25% - 30%.
4 selection of binder: boron anhydride (B2O3) is used instead of boric acid (H3BO3) as binder, and the addition amount is 1.1% - 1.5%.
